A rising star in the American theatre, Santino DeAngelo has time and again invited Binghamton audiences into his imagination. From re-igniting Binghamton University’s Dance Department with the world premiere of his ballet Pygmalion to engaging at-risk youth in a dark, downtown retelling of Federico Garcia Lorca’s Blood Wedding, Santino has described his commitment to his hometown as “vital to his artistic identity”. Santino’s award-winning writing has been seen across the country, from West Palm Beach to Los Angeles, where Santino was honored as a winner of Walt Disney Imagineering’s “New Voices Project”. Now, for the first time, Santino’s work is coming to New York City.

This summer, Santino’s new musical FOOLERIE! will have its Manhattan premiere in the New York Musical Theatre Festival, the most prestigious musical theatre festival in the United States. Beating out over 200 musicals from around the world, FOOLERIE!  was one of ten shows selected to compete in the top-tier of the festival as a Next Link Full Production. Santino is the first artist from the Binghamton area to receive this honor. In order to compete in the festival, Santino — who is also acting as executive producer on his work — is raising the $65,000 necessary to capitalize his show. To kick-off this campaign, Santino has returned to his hometown to premiere A FOOLISH CABARET, featuring songs from his broadway-bound musical, as well as, for the first time, performances of musical numbers that were cut from the show and a behind-the-scenes glimpse into how Santino created the musical. Hosted by Santino, along with some of his broadway friends and local talent (including his parents), A Foolish Cabaret is your front row seat to the creative process like you’ve never seen it before. Come be a part of the journey as Binghamton’s broadway baby begins his bid for the great white way.

The Goodwill Theatre is proud to be once again in collaboration with Santino DeAngelo as he presents A FOOLISH CABARET, honoring a vital part of the organization’s mission to produce new work. The Goodwill Theatre originally hosted a developmental reading of Santino’s musical last June at the Schorr Family Firehouse Stage and looks forward to continuing their commitment to Santino DeAngelo and to the Southern Tier community.

A FOOLISH CABARET plays for one performance only, Sunday, April 12 at 2PM at the Goodwill
Theatre’s Schorr Family Firehouse Stage (48 Willow Street Johnson City, NY). Tickets are $30
and available at the Goodwill Theater Box Office. CALL (607) 772-2404 or PURCHASE ONLINE
