Goodwill Theatre will host the first neighborhood Trunk or Treat on Monday, October 31 from 5:30-7:30pm. Local businesses and organizations will hand out candy from decorated car trunks and truck beds, and the Schorr Family Firehouse Stage will offer tours of its kid-friendly “haunted house”, as well as popcorn and punch.
To provide a fun and safe alternative to traditional door to door trick-or-treating, Goodwill Theatre, in partnership with the Johnson City Police Department and Johnson City Neighborhood Project, is inviting families, businesses, and other groups to distribute candy during the Halloween event. Creativity is encouraged as there will be contests for “Funniest Trunk” “Most Creative Trunk” and “Scariest Trunk”. Interested groups should contact Corrina Johnson by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
“This is a great way for the neighbors to get to know each other and have fun, and for families to spend time together,” said Christine Springer, Goodwill Theatre General Manager.
